I am passionate about human emotion, sacrifice, pain and love. I paint portraits that depict these feelings. Every face has a story to tell, and every story is different. My greatest motivation is my daughter. She helps me see the world from different perspectives, giving me the inspiration and delight I need to be creative. She is my muse! Juggling my schedule of being a working mother, plus working on commissioned pieces is where I make the time to paint my daughter. Her ever-changing facial expressions along with her mischievous personality proves to me that I will have the perfect portrait model for many years to come.
Born in California, Amanda Delight grew up in a military family, traveling the world. She received her first commission by the age of 12. Upon entering The Clark F. Miller, school of radiology; Amanda discovered portrait painting. Throughout x-ray school, Amanda painted portraits of classmates, co-workers, and all members of the hospital staff. It was in these years Amanda was inspired to paint the spirit of the people around her.
Ten years later, Amanda Delight resides in Caribou Maine. She is the Lead Mammographer at her local hospital and a wife and mother. Amanda continues to paint portraits with a captivating style. Her portraits are hung in homes throughout New England and Western New Brunswick.
